Today I was selected as an alternate for the National Security Language Initiative for Youth’s year-long program to China/Taiwan. This means that if a finalist declines his or her scholarship, I have a chance to move up and take that place. I put my heart and soul into studying Chinese, and I desperately want to move up, but if I don’t, I’ll be ok because I know that somehow, someday, I will get back to China. I want to thank everybody who has been and still is being so supportive of me through this whole process. Also, congratulations to everyone who was chosen as a finalist today. I wish you all the best and know that you will have an amazing time.
